Little Shiva (Belgium)
Little Shiva is the superhero alter ego of Christy Trotter, who traveled across the US and Europe as a Navy brat and has had wanderlust and a knack for languages ever since. She holds a degree in communication design from Parsons NYC.
Living in the midst of New York’s acid jazz scene in the early 90’s (Groove Collective/Giant Step) and the international jazz circuit a few years later, she did art and design for her musician friends as The Ministry of Fun. Some notable projects include cover art for Grammy Award-winning band The Klezmatics (Jews With Horns) commissioned by Frank London, three CD package designs for The Mingus Big Band (Gunslinging Birds, Live in Time and Que Viva Mingus) commissioned by Sue Mingus, and the campaign identity for World Population Day 1994, a worldwide population awareness campaign by the United Nations Population Fund.
She moved to Charlotte, NC in the fall of 1999, where she created her ‘zine (QZ). In 2007, she moved to Belgium, where she is very happily married, producing Fingerpainting on Mars and a blog called Visible Trash.
